What does Madovar actually do?

Madovar designs and manufactures custom rigid boxes. That includes the outer box, the interior structure, and all finishes and branding. We are not a marketplace, a reseller, or a self-serve box builder. Most of our work involves helping clients figure out what box they need, how the interior should hold their product, and how the final result should look and function. From first concept to production, you’re working with the same team that designs and makes the box.

Are your boxes fully custom, or do I choose from standard options?

Every box is custom. Even when clients start from an existing format, the dimensions, materials, interior layout, and finishes are adjusted to fit the product and the use case. A cosmetic box, a corporate gifting kit, and a beverage presentation box may look similar online, but they are built very differently in practice. We guide those decisions so the box works properly, not just visually.

What is the difference between Madovar and online box builders?

Online box builders are designed for speed and simplicity. They work well for basic packaging where the box itself is the product. Madovar is built for situations where the box needs to hold something specific, protect it, present it, and support a brand experience. That requires engineering, material knowledge, and real design guidance. Our process replaces guesswork with informed decisions.

Do you design the interior of the box?

Yes. The interior is often the most important part of the project. We design inserts that hold products securely, present them cleanly, and make sense for how the box will be opened and used. Inserts can be rigid, layered, foam-based, or hybrid, depending on weight, shape, and presentation needs. Interior design is not an add-on, it’s core to what we do.

I’m not sure what box I need yet. Can you still help?

That’s how most projects start. Clients usually come to us with a product, a rough idea, or a problem they’re trying to solve. We ask practical questions about dimensions, weight, usage, branding, and budget, then recommend a direction. You don’t need a finished plan. You need clarity, and that’s part of our role.

What types of luxury gift boxes do you make?

We manufacture rigid luxury gift boxes used for cosmetics, fragrance, beverages, corporate gifting, promotional kits, and premium retail products. These are not pre-filled gift boxes. We produce the box itself, designed to hold your product or kit. Luxury, in this context, means material quality, structure, fit, and finish, not decoration for its own sake.

Do you print logos and branding on the boxes?

Yes. Branding can include printed logos, debossing, embossing, foil stamping, soft-touch finishes, and specialty coatings. We’ll recommend methods based on how the box will be used and handled, not just how it looks in photos. Some finishes wear better than others, and those tradeoffs matter.

Can you match a specific brand color or finish?

We can match brand colors and finishes within the technical limits of materials and production methods. Part of our job is explaining where exact matches are realistic and where adjustments are needed to get the best result. This avoids surprises later in the process.

Do you manufacture everything in-house?

We control the full process, from prototyping to production, using our established manufacturing workflow. That allows us to maintain consistency and protect proprietary designs. We are not simply brokering work through unknown third parties.

Do you offer prototypes or samples?

Yes. For many projects, prototyping is the best way to confirm fit, feel, and structure before full production. We’ll advise whether a prototype makes sense based on project complexity and volume.

What are your minimum order quantities?

Minimums vary depending on box type, size, materials, and finishes. Because everything is custom, there is no single minimum that applies to all projects. We’ll explain the practical thresholds during the quoting process so expectations are clear early.

How long does the process take?

Timelines depend on complexity, approvals, and production volume. A straightforward project moves faster than a highly engineered or heavily finished box. We outline timelines early and flag any decisions that affect schedule, so there are no hidden delays.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes. Madovar works with clients across North America, Europe, and the Middle East. We design packaging with shipping realities in mind, including protection, weight, and handling considerations.

Why don’t you list prices on the website?

Custom packaging doesn’t price well as a static product. Dimensions, materials, finishes, inserts, and quantities all affect cost. Publishing generic prices often creates confusion or false expectations. Our quoting process is designed to reflect what you actually need, not an average that doesn’t apply.

Is Madovar a DIY service?

No. Madovar is a full-service design and manufacturing partner. We guide the process, make recommendations, and handle the technical details. If you’re looking to click a few options and check out, we’re probably not the right fit. If you want packaging done correctly, we are.

What is the E-luxe box and why does it matter for sustainability?

The E-luxe box is Madovar’s answer to premium packaging that doesn’t trade luxury for environmental cost. It’s a fully recyclable, responsibly sourced rigid box made with high-quality paper materials that meet real environmental standards, not just marketing claims. It looks and feels premium without lamination or coatings that block recycling, and it gives brands a way to offer upscale presentation while reducing waste at end of life. Madovar developed this option because we believe sustainability should be practical and meaningful, not surface-level. If you want the full picture on our goals and policies, see our sustainability statement on the Madovar site.

How do I get started?

You start by telling us what you’re putting in the box and what the box needs to do. From there, we guide you through the options, show relevant examples, and move toward a clear, workable solution.

How can luxury gift boxes increase your profit?

Luxury gift boxes increase profit by changing how customers perceive value. A well-designed box makes the product feel more intentional, more premium, and easier to justify at a higher price point. It also reduces reliance on discounts because the packaging carries part of the brand story and perceived quality. In many cases, the box becomes part of the product, not a cost to minimise. That allows brands to raise retail pricing, improve margins, and increase repeat purchases without changing the product itself.

What makes luxury gift boxes different from standard packaging?

Standard packaging is designed to contain and ship a product. Luxury gift boxes are designed to present it. The difference is in structure, materials, fit, and finish. Luxury boxes are rigid, precisely sized, and often include custom interiors that hold products in place. Finishes are chosen for durability and feel, not just appearance. Most importantly, luxury boxes are engineered around how the product is revealed and experienced, not just how it’s stored.
